SPEAKER_04Right. And like we spend so much goddamn time together. It's really iconic. The amount of time that we spend together, and like we've like we do well. Like we play.

SPEAKER_04We kind of like know what we're gonna talk about because of like the happenings of what we experience in our life.

SPEAKER_06Okay, to answer your question, am I ranking the four of those shows in terms of am I ranking them of what's my favorite or what I think is the best?
SPEAKER_04I think like what's your favorite. And I guess we could say I also think that means the best.
SPEAKER_06Well, because I think like in terms of I recognize that I believe that some of the shows are better quality, better cinematography, better acting that might not necessarily be the ones that I prefer.
SPEAKER_04Right.
SPEAKER_06I think my ranking would be my favorites are Heated Rivalry, off campus, Sterling Point every year after.
SPEAKER_01Me too.

SPEAKER_04Yes, I echo that.
SPEAKER_06I think Sterling Point is a better show than off campus in terms of the way that it is shot, the plot, the acting, the costuming, the setting, location. Yeah, I think that Sterling Point is a like a more interesting show. Yeah. But I like off campus better, but probably just because I identify more with them, like Sterling Point is high schoolers. Yeah. And off campus is like 28 and nine and 30 year olds playing college kids. Yeah. So I can get behind that. It's more relatable. It's more relatable for us. It's closer touch point for me.
SPEAKER_04We watched Sterling Point this past week, and we watched every year after this week. Sterling Point. The kids look like they're 12. Okay. Yep. If you are our age, you will not like have a crush on any of the boys. Hopefully. Like, yeah, like hopefully. Like I, if anything, had a crush on Ellis' dad.
SPEAKER_06Oh, I mean, yeah, he was hot.
SPEAKER_04Who I just realized was like famous before. Like, he was in a bunch of things like Grey's Anatomy and other shows I should be remembering. But he looks so different now.
SPEAKER_06The dogs like are really on the podcast today. I know. What's his name? I don't remember. I don't know. Your phone's a little filming. Oh shit. It's okay. We did we don't need to know right now. Yeah. Um the dogs are so on the podcast today.
SPEAKER_04Do you have your phone around? No. Because we may need to like fact check, look things up.
SPEAKER_06Sometimes I like when we're spreading rumors. It's good for clips. Okay.
SPEAKER_04Well, there's this whole commentary around this man. Insert his name here. Um, and it's all about like how he's really skinny now, and he used to be super buff and jacked, and so that's why I didn't recognize him.
SPEAKER_06He's buff and jacked in the show. He's buff and jacked in the show, no?
SPEAKER_04Not compared to like what he used to be. Oh wow. And so it's like he's kind of like unrecognizable.
SPEAKER_06He was very handsome. He's got a um like a Javier Bardem thing about him.

SPEAKER_06Uh yeah, Sterling Point, I thought was a really good show. I was skeptical at first. I really already liked the acting. I thought that the the the dialogue was was well written. You can tell that the showrunners and the um like directors gave the actors free reign for some improv because they like definitely made it feel very Gen Z accurate. Yeah. Um, I thought that Ella Rubin, who's the lead, isn't it? Ella Rubin is a star. Star. Not only is she gorgeous, so gorgeous. It's like a classic 90s, you know, Julia Roberts meets Anne Hathaway, meets uh Rachel Vice. Like she's such a bright future. She is a great actress. I think she will be a superstar. This is just the beginning for her. And those boys look young.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like they look young.
SPEAKER_06Like, you know I'm old enough to, I could be their boy.
SPEAKER_04But it's like pre like not puberty, but like before like their muscles. Like they have like little boy necks. Like, you know?
SPEAKER_06They just look like they're 15, 16. And I know that they're in their 20s.
SPEAKER_04I know, but I just yeah, but it's just like I'm more like paternal immediately. I want to protect them, and I want to take care of them.
SPEAKER_06But I could I could put myself in her position of Rory and Ellis, my little brothers. My little brothers, Rory and Ellis, which by the way, both great names. Great names. Um, but I really liked the show.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Yes, yes. We love Sterling Point. The quality is so high.
SPEAKER_06I really liked it. I loved the way it was written. I really loved the way that they wrote the dialogue. I liked the casting and the whole friend group of it all, the lake life. So basically, when we were watching it, the whole lake life thing is that when we were watching it, and then when we were watching every year after, all these shows where it's just like teens in the water, teens in the lake. Yes.
SPEAKER_04Teens in the lake shows. Yes. Teens in a lake.
SPEAKER_06Teens and lake. At moments. And so you and I would like not have spoken in 20 minutes, or we would just be making random comments about the show and just be like, what? I don't understand what's happening. 20 minutes later. Lingway. Goodbye. And it was sort of our touch point. Like if we just needed to check in and make sure the other was like awake and alive and with us.
SPEAKER_04Well, because the show, the cinematography, the lighting, and the set design and the costuming is like so curated. Yeah. And so very accurate. And it's so lake life. As someone who grew up on Lake Winnipesaki in New Hampshire, like I know lake life. That is a lake life.
SPEAKER_06And it gave me, I mean, and I I went to school in Michigan, and a lot of my friends had lake houses in on the lakes in Michigan and whatever, like up north houses. And it did it felt so lake life. Lake life. It felt so lake life.

SPEAKER_04Um really told she told us that she wrote us a hate comment.
SPEAKER_06I know. And then I think she manifested her own hate comment from that. That's true. Okay, so you've been getting some hate comments.
SPEAKER_04Oh my god, you guys.
SPEAKER_06Last week we were talking about a hate comment you got. That was before the real hate comment.
SPEAKER_04So here's the deal. The whole ethos of our podcast is doing our best. And I'm not allowed to say that I'm doing my best at posting, but I am doing my best at posting every single week, and especially for the past like six weeks. Yep. I've been posting three times a day. We all know it's all I talk about. Yep. So I have been tasked to post on TikTok, Instagram, more specifically trial reels, and YouTube shorts. Okay.
SPEAKER_03TikTok and Instagram, it's like, hey girl, like we love your music, like great voice.
SPEAKER_06Because the algorithm knows how to feed the right people.
SPEAKER_04On YouTube, I am hated.
SPEAKER_06You are just b blasted to the masses, so it's those homophobes. It's like there's no curation and they're all both. It's just like it goes wide. You know, there's no curation, there's no algorithm that susses out is this going to land with the right people who are going to be able to do that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like it doesn't hit my audience. No. No.
SPEAKER_06And the audio your audience is on YouTube, but it's not like that's who YouTube pushes your stuff to because it's going to homophobes.
SPEAKER_04And honestly, it's interesting, and because I always I think a sign of like you're doing something right is when you get hate comments. Hate hate comments. Listen, you can't be famous for that hate. I feel okay about it. I think you should. And I also want to say something really interesting. When I was in eighth grade, which is like years ago now, um, I posted a cover, like my first ever cover, on the internet. And we did not have TikTok back then, we did not have Instagram back then, we had YouTube, okay? And and I posted a cover of If I Were a Boy by Beyoncé. Just because I liked the song and loved the song. And I also grew up in a world where it was like so accepting, and I'm in New England, and I'm, you know, in Montessori school, and I'm in theater camp, and my mom like loves her gay child, and so I'm just encouraged and you know, supported and loved and loved, and so I'm not even thinking twice about posting this cover of if I were a boy. I wake up the next day after posting, and it already has 50,000 views, and the comment section.
SPEAKER_01Oh, I'm sure it was a bloodbath.
SPEAKER_04It was a bloodbath of like, but also there were such overwhelmingly good comments as well. That's amazing. I also did a cover of like a Leona Lewis song, and I posted them like all on the same day or something. And I ended up getting on the MTV reality show because of that, which was so cool called Pedro Video Star. Which also I was like, that sounds like a porno.
SPEAKER_06It sounds like a porno. I can't believe I've never heard this before.
SPEAKER_04It was a pilot. Okay. So it never went wide.
SPEAKER_06Got it.
SPEAKER_04And I ended up competing with this woman named Jessica Sanchez, who ended up winning American Idol.

SPEAKER_06That's so funny.
SPEAKER_04And we were she ended up she won bedroom video star, but I got the runner-up spot.

SPEAKER_04Isn't that sick? So when I got those those YouTube hate comments on my if I were a boy cover, it killed me. Like I s I deleted my YouTube channel, and I really I'm really sad about that because those videos, it would be sick to have them online.
SPEAKER_05I know.
SPEAKER_04And especially with all the views that they have. No, I like deleted the channel. Like with all the views they had, they could have millions of views by now. And that sucks. And um I've I think I was self-sabotaging, and it's something I still do. And um, but I will say, in this experience of receiving hate comments now, like I'm I'm okay.
SPEAKER_06Well, you were young, you were trying to protect your peace.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It's not that's not self-sabotaging. You just were trying to equip yourself with like uh defense defenses, and that's what you are.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god, yeah.
SPEAKER_06We're doing our best. Yeah, doing my goodness. And you were doing your best then, and you're doing your best now.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, now when I get a hate comment, I'm like, Yahoo!
SPEAKER_06Yahoo! It means it's going wild algorithm. That's how you know we've hit the algorithm. Yeah, we've gotten hate comments on this pod. Yeah, we did. We got some hate comments on this pod because everything that can be taken out of context and people who are just like, y'all are so irritating.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06That was my favorite one.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I didn't see that one.
SPEAKER_06Great. It was like something like, Oh, Jesus, y'all are so irritating.
SPEAKER_03Wow, I did not see that. And I was like, that is fair.
SPEAKER_04The one that I saw was they commented something about something, and then they responded, and then you responded with the account, and then they responded with like, hopefully I'll never see y'all again.
SPEAKER_07And I was like, I didn't see that one.

SPEAKER_06Celebs at Citi Field. Describe. All I have to say to you. Start in the beginning. Oh my god, that's another contender. Unfortunately, I do feel like the other title has to be the title, but that would be a great title for this episode. Celebs at Citifield. I think that may have to be the title. Might have to be the title. So um I was invited by the Mets to go to a Mets game a few weeks ago. Because you're a celeb. Because obviously a celeb. Um and I brought our friend Maddie and we went and you know had our our talent liaison and everything. And we we went, we like had like Chris Pine was with us and his friend, and we had a lovely time at the game, and they won. They beat the Dodgers, which was interesting because obviously, having lived in LA, it was a little bit of a torn thing for me. And like two worlds colliding, two worlds colliding, and we were in the Delta Lounge, which was very lovely. And we were Delta, and I'm a I'm a Delta girl. Yeah, I'm a Delta girl, so it was lovely to be home. Our liaison was amazing. You know, we got Maddie her gluten-free chicken tenders, which were really great gluten-free chicken tenders.
SPEAKER_04Wait, so hold on. So you we you you get into the We're in the Delta Lounge. In the lounge, and like, is there food ton of food? And so there's nothing that Maddie can eat because she's gluten free.
SPEAKER_06No, there was stuff she could eat, but she was like, Oh, I would really I wish I could have, you know, uh all of the ballpark faves, a chicken finger, a grilled cheese, whatever, but she needs it to be gluten-free and and dairy free. I asked our girl if that was possible to get. And she gave us the gluten-free menu and then went over to this one gluten-free section all I think across the stadium. Oh and then brought us the gluten-free. You're famous. I mean celebs at City Field. Okay, okay, okay. It's okay. And so then the the photographer wanted to take our photo behind base, so she took our photo. Terrible photo, by the way. Not her fault, terrible photo. Terrible photo.
SPEAKER_04But she was making her carousel.
SPEAKER_06She's making that carousel. So I'm on Instagram weeks later.
SPEAKER_04Weeks later after the game.
SPEAKER_06Weeks later. I happen upon my tagged photos. I think I was looking to see, I think I was looking for something for our podcast. I think I was looking for a clip that I was gonna share with somebody. And so I went into my tagged videos and saw that I was tagged in the photo from the Mets. And I was like, I didn't post this. And so then I saw that the Mets and I opened it up, captioned celebs at City Field. Last slide. Last slide. And I put it on my story. I talk about validation. Oh my god. I think I don't think I've had more uh responses to a an Instagram story than that in a while, like this, of so many people laughing. All of my friends cracking up, and now it's become it's become a thing that I was at dinner the other day, and my friends kept being like, you know, something would happen, I'd get brought, you know, an extra something, or someone would be extra nice. And they can you know, just going above and beyond. And they'd be like, well, you know, celebs at City Field. So now celebs at City Field is as stuck as just an overarching uh just a thing.
SPEAKER_03I also love the gluten-free chicken tenders.
SPEAKER_06The gluten-free chicken tenders, and by the way, delicious gluten-free chicken tenders, very hot, very fresh. And our seats were great. And we stayed, we ended up staying the whole game. The weather was beautiful, we were in and out, we would go to the seats, we'd go back to the Delta Lounge, get some food, get a wine, get a water. It was a lovely experience. I can't wait to go back. Well, we're go we're welcome back anytime, I was told. Well, I want the full experience.

Like last month I and I'm getting closer because basically with posting, my dream and the goal is that it converts to like people going to Spotify or Apple Music to listen to my music, right? So last month I was going viral for a dog named Archie. And it it was our neighbor's dog walked into our friend's house. I was there house sitting, the dog wanders into the house. There is this beast in the home that I do not know. And I what what do I do? I take my phone out and I film it, and then I like rescue the dog for the day. He we hang out together, I make this video, I find the dad. Okay.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_04I post the video before we found the dad, and it like immediately started going viral.
SPEAKER_06It's perfect fodder for TikTok.
SPEAKER_04Perfect fodder for TikTok. Everyone's like, Archie, oh my god.
SPEAKER_03He's like, they're like, that's your dog now. That's your dog. And I was like, my song's coming out next week. I don't care. Does anyone please care about that instead of this dog?

SPEAKER_04That's fine. But it was it was fun though to be like, okay, like there's reaction. This is what it feels like because I've had videos do that before, but it's been a minute. But I was like, this is you know, this is the feeling, you know.
SPEAKER_06Getting back into the practice of it. Yes.
SPEAKER_04So then I was like, so last month it was Archie.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. This month in August Archie was a good precursor.
SPEAKER_04This week in August, I've gone viral for covering Daylight by David Kushner. And um, David Kushner, uh, first of all, very talented songwriter, artist, amazing voice. And Daylight, his song Daylight, is one of my like favorite songs. And so many people have related to the lyrics. Um, Oh, I love it and I hate it at the same time. Drinking poison from the same vine is the lyric that always comes comes to mind first. And especially queer people. If you if you listen to those lyrics, they do sound a little gay. You know, they are gay lyrics. Like it just does sound gay, okay? So it kind of sounds like the shame of like, you know, hiding your sexuality and um feeling shame for being attracted to men, which is a sin and all these things.
SPEAKER_06It's not to us, by the way.
SPEAKER_04Huh?
SPEAKER_06Not a sin to us.
SPEAKER_04Not a sin to us, what have you, but like, you know, Christianity and all that. Dot dot dot. And so, you know, David Kushner has a Sunday day. I haven't really heard his name in the past year or so. He's been quiet online. I know that he was going through some mental health stuff, and I think he took a step back, which we've all done. And and now he is trying to get back on the on the scene and back on the algorithm and back on the FYP and back in everyone's minds. And so I can't tell if what he was posting was clickbait or true or rage bait, all this stuff, but he became very antagonistic online. And he was basically saying, POV, all of the atheists who listen to your song Daylight don't know that it's actually a Bible song. It's actually a religious song. Um, and he was like, checkmate atheists in his captions. And so everyone felt like he was almost starting like an online religious war, right? Kind of being like, Oh, you didn't know that this song's actually about God. Gaze. Gaze. Is like is like how it was. Which is how it was received online, and that's been the fodder past week online.
SPEAKER_06Right. We don't know if that was the intention, but that was what happened online.
SPEAKER_04And I've seen the posts, like, it didn't feel good watching those videos. They were getting a lot of views and and traction. Sure. So, like, if that was the goal, then it worked.
SPEAKER_06Um, and so we've talked about Rage Bade on this podcast.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and so I had a brilliant little idea. I said to myself, I said to myself, I'm gonna do a gay cover of Daylight by David Kushner, and I'm going to post it tonight.
SPEAKER_06You gotta strike while the iron's hot.
SPEAKER_04And so that's what I did, and then it blew up.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And then the comments were full of, um honestly overwhelmingly positive for me, and my voice and my performance, and also relating to me. Yeah. And being like, yeah, for me, Daylight is a queer song. And and you know, the thing about music and the thing about songs is once we put them out into the world, we kind of it's not that we lose control of them, but when we share a song, it could it's going to mean a million different things to a million different people.
SPEAKER_06It's no longer just yours.
SPEAKER_04And right. And so I really didn't like that that David was it felt like he was saying that this song wasn't for everyone. You know, and and I know that a lot of queer people out there, Daylights helped them. And I was like, let's do a gay version. And that the comments were overwhelmingly positive for me. They were not overwhelmingly positive for David. And then uh David did comment yesterday on the video, and he was like, uh, nobody said that this song wasn't for you, or something along those lines. Something like that, yeah. And then he was like, Your voice is beautiful, which is very kind. That was good good on him. And like a good response. Like, like, look, the the internet is saying that it looks overwhelmingly like he's pivoting from a PR perspective. Like his team is like, girl, you gotta like losing a lot of followers. Sure. Um but I also don't read him as like a homophobic individual or a hate like a like a hateful person. And so I think that there's probably also a side of him being like, ugh, like this response is like Nah Right.
SPEAKER_01Not what I was going for.
SPEAKER_04And I empathize with that because I know how like out of control the internet can become and the commentary. So now what I've been thinking about all day is just like I want to respond to his comment or something, but I don't want to respond to it in a way that's like um feeding negativity.
SPEAKER_06Sure.
SPEAKER_04I want to find a way that I can respond to it because I've been working on the production of the song and I want to share kind of like an updated production. I want to think of a way that I can be like David said that it can be a good song.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I think you can reply. I I think that replying to his comment with a video, yeah. So having it be on screen, yeah. And just being like, see, this song can be for everyone, or like this song exactly, right? Like this song can be for any and every song can be for anyone. If you identify with a song, it's it's yours. And once you put it out, that's the thing that you relinquish as an artist is being able to have any control over who it lands for, yeah, what their experience is with it. You no longer have control over that.
SPEAKER_04Well, and I've also been sitting in this experience, like, how do I want to show up in the world? And I just want to be, and I think I said this in the last episode, like, I just want to be a positive force. Force. Yes. And I don't think my video was like negative. No. I think that it I entered a vortex of like people who are really upset about this. Honestly, like me too.
SPEAKER_06Fair.
SPEAKER_04Um, but I'm like, how can I like kind of maybe tie it up in a knot and be like on a positive note? But also in a way that like doesn't make people then be like, well, Roger like cave to the yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_06I think I think exactly what we said, like use that comment for the new version.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And just having that be a universal statement on music and on what people identify with, it is for everyone. Whether that's to reaffirm him or yourself or the people who listen to it, doesn't matter. That's the statement. Music is for everybody.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And it can be and it should be.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06It's been a couple weeks now since chaos. How's how is it going? It's going well. Okay.
SPEAKER_04I feel good. It's been a soft launch, if you will. I also think it's like, you know, I'm playing the long game. Yeah. And I and I know that everything I'm doing every day is compounding. Yes. And there's so many more songs to come, and that's what it's about.
SPEAKER_06It's not like, you know, any one song, any one week.
SPEAKER_04And every in the story that you hear over and over again is, you know, mm a lot of times these days, songs that blow up don't blow up until years after they come out as well.
SPEAKER_06So like six months later, a year later, whatever it is, you they get placed in a TV show and then people shazam it and they're like, Whoa, what is this? And so you never know what the life cycle of a song is gonna be. You never know what the life cycle of a song is going to be, and when it's peak or height or whatever is gonna be at.
SPEAKER_04I also kind of just feel like I'm revving my engine a little bit, where I'm just like, yeah.
SPEAKER_06I love that as like a metaphor.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and I'm just kind of learning and showing up and getting better every day, and and um, yeah, so it's very exciting.
SPEAKER_06Do we know when the second song is coming out?
SPEAKER_04Okay, so the second song that I have coming out, it's called As Long As I'm With You, and Nora May and I actually wrote it together and it's coming out at the end of September.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Yeah, we're rocking and rolling.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and then I have a song coming out in November and December in January and February.
SPEAKER_06Yay!
SPEAKER_04And then you're gonna be on Oh, I can't tell them. Well, delete that.

SPEAKER_04My second single comes at the end of September. I'm so excited. It's so beautiful, it's so lush. I think my one like concern about it, it's not that it doesn't sound like me or sound like my project, it's just like the farthest away from like folk Americana on the project. But I think maybe that's good, like kind of showing people that I'm a dynamic artist and it's not just folk and American.
SPEAKER_06Because the whole thing, once it, you know, when you get the whole EP together, yeah, it all is cohesive. Yeah, it's all is part of a story. So I think that any one single, you know, no one can judge an artist against just a one single, it's gotta all be part of a world. There's still cohesivity in it and with the rest of the project, and it'll all make sense. It all comes together in the end.
SPEAKER_04It always does.
SPEAKER_06But yeah, but it's also good, like it's good to have stuff that's not that doesn't all sound the same. Not that your stuff sounds the same, but you you want to be able to show that you have ranges and like you said, as a dynamic artist.

SPEAKER_06We need the sex scene. Yeah. I was like, I want that scene. Because it's an amazing placement when you're doing a sex scene, because there's usually limited dialogue, if any. Please make it more affordable to film in LA so my friends can stay employed. Yep. But I guess the flip side is a lot of folks are employed in Canada. And Canada's beautiful.

SPEAKER_06Of season one is one of those things that now having written my treatment, I there was your movie. There was a moment that I was going to have had to make something make sense that just was a reach. Like it was gonna be a reach. And I knew that. And I was gonna have to force something into the plot to happen to get to the next point that just was gonna be kind of random and and would have been too much of a jump. It was too thin. And I felt hello?

SPEAKER_05Oh I was like, oh my god, don't lose your mind right now. I was like, please don't go crazy right now. Like you just become schizophrenic right now. No, I can't today. I was like, I can't have that today. Um just when things were finally starting to normalize around here.

But I I felt like the thing that happened at the end of every year after was one of those moments that like had to be forced in there because they needed so desperately for the next thing to happen. And so they had to put that random photo of the lake in the boss's office.

SPEAKER_04Well, I I tend to just do the same things over and over again for the first time. I'm not like that interesting of a person, unfortunately.
SPEAKER_03I am interesting as a human, but like it's I get what you mean. I feel the same way.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, like I do kind of like so I said producing last week. This week I'm Doing my best. It's time management. It's not sexy.
SPEAKER_06No one said it had to be.
SPEAKER_04But it is when I'm doing my best at. I have been like really because you know, I quit my job. I quit my cor corporate job at the beginning of the year. I have embarked on working for myself as an artist. I also have some consultancy clients. My brain became scrambled eggs when I quit Disney. It was like I lost all my structure. And uh and I've always been so good at time management. I also think I finally didn't have someone to report to, and it's freeing, and you can just kind of like go woo and like life is vacation.
SPEAKER_03Life is vacation.
SPEAKER_04And I and I'm very hard on myself as well, but I've been like, I would like to have more structure, um, especially in my schedule and just getting things done. Because then I spend a lot of time worrying about and ruminating on what I'm not doing and what I haven't done yet. Right. Um, so this week I was very much like Roger. Let's start today off with answering all the emails you don't want to answer. And then you can post work on music, all these things. I love that. The fun stuff. I love that. Posting is the fun stuff now. Did you hear that? Yeah, I did. Um, so yeah.
SPEAKER_06I think that's great.
SPEAKER_04And so I've just been trying to be structured and also I've been trying to wind down, go to bed early instead of just like staying up on my phone and that's great. You know, trying to wake up like if I I've been waking up kind of earlier and I've been like, okay, like let's like not go back to sleep. Besides this morning.
SPEAKER_06Well, today's Sunday, too. So weekends are different.
SPEAKER_04I woke up this morning and it was like we both love rain. I love rain so bad. I love a summer storm. And we've been having such a great summer in the sense of like it hasn't been that stormy, right?
SPEAKER_06No, but it's been the perfect amount.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and this morning was the perfect, like slowly waking up, and you wake up and you realize it's downpouring.
SPEAKER_06And it was pouring like all night.
SPEAKER_04It was so good. And I then fell back asleep after waking up, and I had a dream that we were in this crazy storm. And that was fun.
SPEAKER_05I wish it was being a bad dream.
SPEAKER_04And I was like, it's raining really hard. Ah and like we were fine, but it was crazy. But yeah, time management. What are you doing your best at?
SPEAKER_06I'm gonna go superficial. I'm doing my best at figuring out how to embrace my natural hair and air and air drying. Right now I have a conditioning treatment, and so that's why it's slick to back. But I have been very inspired by Sterling Point. Yeah. And by Annie's hair or Ella Rubin's hair. So beautiful, wavy, curly, kind of frizzy summer thing. And it's so beautiful and natural. Yeah. Very 90s Julie Roberts. I have very similar hair. My hair's not as long, and I'm working on that. And so I have been very inspired to embrace my natural hair, let it air dry. It is hard when it's humid in the summer, like it is here, but I am trying to figure out how to do it better and how to get it to a place where I like it and want to go outside.
SPEAKER_04Like I was obsessed with your hair yesterday.
SPEAKER_06I kept getting compliments on it last night.
SPEAKER_04I literally was like Nora Mae's marketing manager, and I was like, this is the new era.
SPEAKER_06He was like, I'm getting a download. Yeah. This hair is the next era. I was seeing colors.
SPEAKER_04He was like gold.
SPEAKER_02Location.
SPEAKER_06And blue. Yeah. And we were like, Egypt. And like a dewy sweat on your skin. Yeah. Like, yeah. He was like, yeah, it's like a little sweat. A little sweaty.

SPEAKER_06And so it's channeling. You were channeling. And I think that I love my hair used to be down to my butt. It was so like mermaid hair. I had mermaid hair. And then I cut it and I I went, I did full bob. Like I did short bob. The full opposite. I had never done that before. That was a COVID thing. It was like 2021, I think I cut my hair. And then I went short. I cut it first to here, and then I went shorter. I went like real bob. And I loved my short hair. But after a while you get a little bored because there's not so many things that you can do with it. And you get, you know, two options of styles. It's down, down with a little curl, down with your hair tucked behind your ears. And I was getting a little bored and wanting and missing my long hair and feeling that you know, just I love styling it. I love putting it up. And so I've been a growing my hair out. And I will probably cut it back to the bob again at some point. I really loved it short, but growing it back out right now and trying to make sure it gets really healthy and and take care of it, and now trying to embrace the the natural the natural curl. So I'm doing my best at figuring out how to style my hair naturally. Love it. Which is just a superficial, silly thing that I'm doing my best at this week, but that's what I'm doing. Do you like straighten your hair? No, I blow dry it. You blow dry it. Okay. I don't use hot tools on my hair unless I I mean I I can't say ever. If I need to for uh an event or for something, but I don't do that. I don't usually use them anymore.
SPEAKER_04Blow drying whatever product you put in it like alters the texture, the natural texture of your hair.
SPEAKER_06Well, not really. It's kind of the blow drying itself. I don't really use products on it either, other than like a heat protectant. It's the actual blow drying. I use a Dyson.

SPEAKER_06I use the Dyson thing.
SPEAKER_01Air wrap?
SPEAKER_06I do have the air wrap. I don't use it that much, but I use the Dyson so there's like a round brush element to it. So it's like getting a blowout. So I straighten out the natural texture of my hair by doing the blowout.

SPEAKER_06So it's dry bar vibes. Sure. In my in our bathroom.

SPEAKER_06So I give myself dry bar.

SPEAKER_06I do feel like I am. I do feel inspired in general by different like aesthetics, how they inform the sound and the visuals and what the styling is going to be like. So I am excited to see how having longer hair, as superficial as that sounds, it really does change what an era can be. Yeah. I'm excited to see how the styling is changing and how the hair is changing, the makeup is changing, that how that all informs the brand and the sound and the everything else. So I am inspired in general as to what the next era will bring, and maybe that's part of it. Figuring out how to embrace my natural texture. Obsessed. SPEAKER_06I I completely agree. Yes. Which is also why I've felt like such a big deal when I cut my hair because I have had long hair for so long. Totally. I just meant in terms of I feel like usually when we answer what we're doing our best at, it's more of either you know an action we're taking in our lives or a career focus or an you know emotional or mental practice that we're doing. And I was like, I'm going vain. I'm going vanity. Yeah. So it's it's just superficial and like an identity thing.
SPEAKER_04For sure. And so when I that's how I feel about like losing my hair in my late 20s, now 32, is like I definitely am jealous when I hear that you can define eras with hair. And I also think that hair is so iconic, like iconic hair, like Chapel Roan and her red vol volum voluminous, her red voluminous hair, Billie Eilish with her like black and then the green, and then the blonde. And then the blonde, Taylor Swift with her 1989 hair going into and then her like her, you know, Taylor Swift first album hair and all of her hairs. Um yeah, it's something that I'm like I get jealous of for sure. You know, being vulnerable on the pod.
SPEAKER_06So of course.

SPEAKER_06It's also a thing I I believe also from like a male-female perspective too, yeah. Not that they can't, yeah, become more limited depending on with their hairs.

SPEAKER_06Because if they are like, I like my hairstyle, it's more I I think it is more common for women to change their hair more than men do, obviously. This is massive just generalization. But in general, I think that that's probably true. Yeah. And especially when it comes to being an artist or whatever, you see women change their hair more to be synonymous with like an era or a style or a movie or a project or something.
SPEAKER_04So I'm getting a hair transplant for my next era.

SPEAKER_04And it's not about that. It freaks me out. Like the actual surgery and the swelling that I've seen after, I think would like send me for a slight tailspin. Okay. I also will not go to Turkey for the hair transplant. You wanna do it here? I am too anxiety-ridden. Also, when I'm when I'm traveling, I like I have medical and health anxiety, like in general. I can't, I'm not gonna go get a procedure in Turkey. Like, I can't do that. Nothing against Turkey. I'm just like a homebody. Like, if something's happening to me, like I'm going under the knife. I wanna like go under the knife and come home and like be in my home. I don't want to be like in Turkey and like you're like you're like icing my head or something. Like I just can't. Um, and so like that does like freak me out. And then also the recovery, like, you look insane for like half a year. So if and when I ever do get a hair transplant, it's gonna have to be like really strategically planned. So if I ever do do it, I don't know. Like, I think I would do it if the opportunity ever presented itself. I will also say I will never be one of those people to get a hair transplant and be like, it just grew.

SPEAKER_04I will never be one of those people. Like, I would be like, I literally will be like, I'm getting a hair transplant today and post about it. Because I also think that's how I want to show up online as well, and as like a person, as I become as I put myself out there more, I don't I'd want to just be like, I'm getting a hair transplant. Because also I know that there's people out there who would see that, and guys out there, and probably maybe some women as well, would would see that video and be like, relate to it and appreciate me sharing.
SPEAKER_03Feel empowered, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And I also think when it comes to any type of plastic surgery, I'm all for it. What I am not all for is the pretending you didn't get it. I think it's I think it's cool. Like just like share it, be honest, you know? I I agree. But also if you don't want to, I understand. Like it's you don't have to share your medical history online. Is that what I'm saying? I don't want to s I don't want to sound like I'm No, but you're but I get what you're saying.
SPEAKER_06Like if somebody's like lying about, you know, getting lip injections or something, yeah, and all of a sudden they have perfect lips and they're like, oh, I just used this product and that's what made it, and then it makes people buy that product and then they don't get those results. Yeah. But you've now not been honest by not disclosing that you had your lips done.

When we were writing it, we were like, we feel like little fairies right now. And I was imagining the music video, and like I was like, it's the music video, if it ever happens, which it might. I see us as little fairies in like this garden, and I saw myself in like this like wig. And I was like, that was that would be fun. That's fun. Like playing with wigs in in a way that doesn't feel like oh, he's wearing a toupee. Like, you know what I mean? I hate toupees. So like I don't know, maybe maybe I need to be thinking about that more and like things that I can do to put it. Um, because it is crazy when I wear a wig, like the way my face, I'm like, oh my god, it like transforms your face.

SPEAKER_04I know, I know. Yeah, it's crazy. And so I miss the like being able to change it up. Yeah. And like the being it being a dynamic experience. Because now I have one look which is bald. Yeah. Yeah. Or hat.
